Dobova, Slovenia (2009-10-25) – Well, here I sit at the seemingly new built train station of Dobova, just over the Croatian border, having come from lovely Zagreb, where I spent the first four, extraordinary, nights of my journey. The layover for my next train, which will take me to Kresko, Slovenia to visit a friend for two nights, is 1:30, for which I will travel 14 minutes, and is the first of many that I shall certainly spend in waiting for transport to my next destination.
Sadly, the EU seems to be less architecturally inspired than the Soviets, who’s concrete excretions litter the landscape of their past dominion. While I can’t say much for sleepy town of Dobova, I can highly recommend Zagreb to anyone who happens to be visiting the area. The city is as charming and delightful as are the people.
