Well, not really.
But, I do want to write a short post about several businesses and accommodations that I have use/frequented while traveling these last few weeks that have made a difference in my travels.
First, and most importantly, I want to mention the CouchSurfing network. It is a great way to travel, see locations and meet new people. I know, it sounds like an advertisement but, frankly, that is what this post is about! Through the CS network I have met some amazing people and made several new life-long friendships. Nuff said.
Next up: Apartments Ljubljana. I was pleasantly surprised by this company and would highly recommend them if you are looking for an apartment in Ljubljana for a short term stay. They were super friendly and helpful. The apartment I rented was exactly what I needed and I’m glad I found them.
My favorite hipster coffee shop, bar and free internet joint has been Bi-Ko-Fe in Ljubljana. Check it out if you are in the hood.
When in Jelsa, do as Benko says! If you are headed for the island of Hvar, I would highly recommend a friend of a friend, Mr. Benko who can sort you out. If you are a regular reader of this blog, you will get to know about Benko a bit more once I publish my “Olive Oil” story. He and his family have several vacation rentals and I am really grateful that I was able to meet him. When (not if) I go back to Jelsa, I will be staying with him. Send me a message if you want his details.
Lastly, a rather impersonal recommendation since they are a huge company, but I have been very happy Jadrolinija ferry service. If you are traveling the waterways of the Croatian coast, hop on an enjoy the ride. I particularly recommend the Split – Stari Grad (Hvar) – Korčula – Dubrovnik run, which goes during the day and from which you get some amazing fews of the Croatian Archipelago.
Drop me a comment if you want any additional info or have suggestions yourself for other travelers!
